TRANSPORTATION Getting to Kalamata: - Athens to Kalamata bus service: Kalamata is linked to Athens and other major Greek cities with an excellent and frequent service of buses within 2h.45 min (EXPRESS) or 3h.15 min (NORMAL). Buses to Kalamata leave from Kifisos KTEL Bus Station. For more information visit http://www.ktelmessinias.gr. In order to get to the Kifisos KTEL Bus station, take the Bus X93 express bus service from the airport. Buses leave every 30-40 minutes and the duration of the drive is approximately 60 minutes. For information on the departure times from Athens airport please visit http://www.athensairportbus.com/en/timetable/x93airporttokifisos.html - Athens Airport to Kalamata mini-bus service: Attendants to the conference are provided with the possibility of transfer directly from the Athens airport to the town of Kalamata with specially hired luxury mini-vans. The service is provided by Pixida Tours. The total duration of the trip is 2 hours 45 minutes. Prices vary between €50-88 according to the number of people and the type of vehicle hired. A minimum of three (3) people is required to run the service. Kalamata International Airport: Kalamata International Airport (KLX) provides frequent links to both Greek and international destinations. The city centre can be reached from the airport in approximately 15 minutes by taxi (average fare to and from the airport costs 15-20 €. Prices may vary depending on the distance and the weight of luggage carried).
Getting Around: Urban bus line 1 can transfer you to all central points, i.e. the beach, the historical centre, the central square etc. Buses run with a 15 minute frequency. Taxi service in Kalamata is exceptionally economic (average fare within the city during the day costs 4‑5€ - up to 4 persons). You can either call a taxi free of charge or get a taxi from one of the appointed boarding stations (http://www.radiotaxi-kalamatas.gr).
